What Are People Saying About the Colorado XT Pontoon Boat?
“Form and function“
Just purchased my Colorado XT last month and have used it twice (small river & lake). The boat is safe, comfortable, and fun. Out of the box, it looks somewhat daunting to assemble but once you did it a couple of times, it’s very easy. It now takes me about 30 minutes to assemble at the water. I leave the frame straps tied to each pontoon and it makes for a faster set up and takedown.
The most important thing I considered when buying a pontoon boat was how much space the boat would take up when disassembled. I have a Toyota FJ Cruiser and I needed a boat that would fit in the cargo area and the XT does not disappoint.

“Great ‘toon!!”
I only used it once so far, but it performed precisely as I wished. I am a big man, 300 lbs. and even with all my fishing gear, it floated, handled, and maneuvered with great agility. This is a quality design, and it seems to be quite tough.
I will use it a lot in the coming months and years. The only change I would make is the stripping basket; it is too tall to sit on your lap as you paddle around, a shorter profile would work better.
-Colorado XT User
“Love it! Stunning pontoon, sturdy and comfortable”
WOW – it is hard to explain the quality of this product. Although the price is higher in Canada (by some distance) than that is the USA I would say that it is a very high standard of product. I have not had it on the water yet but even though that is the intent I still feel totally at home at giving the Pontoon a 5/5 star rating, it is stunning to look at and as study as I could ever want.

Inflatable Pontoon Boat FAQs
What is an inflatable pontoon boat?
An inflatable pontoon boat is a small, lightweight inflatable fishing craft that anglers use to fish from. They have pontoons on either side and a seat raised above the water allowing the legs of the angler to rest upon metal framing holding the boat together.
Inflatable pontoon boats are used for many aspects of fishing, such as flyfishing for trout or lure fishing for largemouth bass, and enable the angler to fish areas otherwise not fishable from the bank.
A standard inflatable pontoon consists of two inflated bladders held together by metal framing (usually), a plastic fold-down chair, oars, reserve air compartments, and tackle storage pockets. Many many anglers customize their crafts with additional rod holders, lights, and electronic fish finders.
Where can you purchase inflatable pontoon boats?
Inflatable pontoons are available at many popular retailers including Amazon, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Cabellas, and Bass Pro Shops.
How do you maneuver an inflatable pontoon?
You utilized attached oars to maneuver your inflatable pontoon boat for fishing. The oars make it possible to move quietly through the water.
Remember to stay reasonably close to shore. While inflatable pontoons are puncture-resistant, accidents can happen. Being out in the middle of the lake with a deflating pontoon can spell disaster for your gear and makes getting your catch to shore that much more difficult.
What are some inflatable pontoon boat fishing tips?
- Take the right tackle and rod.
- Plan your fishing spot because you’ll need to stay close to shore.
- Then don’t go far in the event you get a puncture.
- Take advantage of the wind on your return when energy levels are not as high.
- Don’t just cast, troll too.
- Bring a change of clothes for when you are done fishing.
- Protect your valuables in waterproof cases and make sure they are tied up.
- Make sure you are seen by wearing bright colors.
- Watch the time to make as it sometimes takes longer to get back to shore.
- Remember sunscreen.
- Bring plenty of water and snack foods.

Do you wear waders in an inflatable pontoon?
Waders are not necessary when inflatable pontoon fishing as your body is completely out of the water.
If you are going to wade in the water, then yes, bring waders as they do a great job of protecting you from hypothermia and will keep underwater bugs like leeches from bothering you. They’ll also help you avoid abrasions. You can find a good selection of waders here.
